The Vancouver Edit was founded by Sonia, a UBC student and former BMO Senior Customer Service Representative who knows firsthand what it feels like to have your story told wrong.

After paying $1,500 for a personal profile that was flat, generic, and nothing like her — she rewrote it herself. It was incomparably better. That moment made one thing clear: most people don't lack a compelling story. They lack someone who knows how to find it and put it into the right words.

Sonia has scored 90+ on virtually every writing assignment at UBC, navigated the Canadian system as an immigrant, got hired at one of Canada's top 5 bank at the age of 19. And over five years on the frontline at BMO, she was handed countless resumes from hopeful applicants - and saw firsthand how many fell flat. Not because they weren't capable, but because nobody has taught them how to present themselves.

The Vancouver Edit are for the student who feels behind or who lacks the guidance and knowledge of what admissions teams are truly looking for. The applicant who has sent countless resumes, sat through rejection after rejection, and still can't figure out what they're doing wrong. The recent graduate who worked incredibly hard for their degree but was never taught how to communicate their value in the real world - because academic excellence and professional presentation are two completely different skills that nobody teaches you. The International student navigating the system that was never designed to be intuitive for them. The immigrant professional who held a high-status career back home, only to arrive in Canada and feel forced to start over - their experience invisible on paper because they don't yet know how to translate it for a Canadian audience.
